I’ve been really touched by the number of nice people who have drawn up their cars beside mine and gesticulated furiously that my hubcap is wobbling precariously. It is actually held on by plastic stuff, but it’s so nice that people are prepared to do that.
It’s led to a lot some embarassing moments as I [...]

What’s a gasket?
Posted in stuff and things, tagged car on February 19, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
Doesn’t Mrs Gasket write Victorian novels? If it’s anything mechanical, then I won’t know about it. Unfortunately.
It’s been a day of new experiences:
1st time seen smoke belching from back of car
1st time seen smoke belching from front of car
1st time accelerator has felt crunchy
1st time phoned AA
1st time standing alone beside motorway

I was really looking forward to the weekend. First chance this week to be outside during daylight hours (and I mean outside, not inside a car) .
What do I get?
Rain.
But that’s OK, I’m Scottish, I can cope with rain. We’ll stick the kids in wellies and go for a walk in the woods. Be a [...]

Jool’s New Year Hootenanny has a bit of a diva-fest going on. Martha Reeves, Duffy, Adele, Annie Lennox.
Annie still has it – stunning and emotional performances. She looks fabulous, gorgeous and dignified. I’m much happier to know that Annie, amongst many others would see in the New Year quietly in their own house – in [...]
A day in the worklife: period 2: the free period!

I was getting the new Creative Suite software loaded onto the computers the first two periods (hurray!) but unfortunately that meant the 6th years had to be ejected from the ICT. Instead I was kept busy (and happily so) providing assistance with personal statements and debate research rather than making sure the website was showing the [...]
