Enthusiastic Scottish school librarian, wife, mum and daughter (and novice blogger) but not necessarily in that order.
Enthusiasms: family (HB, zebraboy, storyangel etc), stories, laughing, chocolate, astronomy, Earthsea, explaining stuff, archaeology, Pratchett, Queen and music that grabs your soul, Smallfilms, Jasper Fforde, Hermione Granger, West Wing, University Challenge, family history, etymology, snapping photographs, children’s fiction, imagination, finding connections, exploring and learning new stuff.
Concerns: Autistic Spectrum Disorders, what libraries should be doing, keeping the planet going, both sides of the story, finding decent names for my blogs (for the record, I like the name attached to this creation, thanks to Jasper Fforde).
Negative passions: moths (zombie butterflies), jumping to conclusions, lack of debate

Shouldn’t Benny be mentioned somewhere? I love the photo of the bridge- where is that?
Don’t know but it’s gorgeous. It just seemed appropriate for the blog.
And my husband does not look like Benny from Abba, whereas your’s does look like that guy from The Kids in the Hall, so there.
Nicest thing anyone’s said about me all week – but which Kid are we talking about – the quirky, handsome one? But how did you find out about the cross dressing?. Couldn’t possibly be me, I’ve seen Canada but the Americans wouldn’t let me out. Now, most people have a hard time getting into the US but I have to have a hard time getting out as well. Besides, Benny probably sings better than me anyway, and definitely looks more Swedish in a Swedish car than I could possibly ever do. Lucky me.
Er……
I do not look like Benny from ABBA, nor, unfortunately do I have his money or talent or, fortunately, his (ex-)wife (was she the blonde one or the ugly one?).
I can also confirm that “A Kid in the Hall” is in fact the quirky, handsome one and that he does not cross dress (at least he won’t when we’re together).
I have also advised the aforementioned post-er that he would not look cool in a SAAB (let’s face it VOLVO’s are hardly sexy at all).
However, when he next up grades his wheels, he should look at a German beast: BMW (if wife will approve budget), VW Golf, GTI of course (as long as wife doesn’t mind wolf whistles from young(er) blondes of the female type, be they builders or not).
He should, of course, stay away from any American models.
Re: comment above
To all strangers reading this:
He’s mine, he’s straight and he’s going to get killed, slowly and with pain.
To all non-strangers: you see what I put up with?
Just read your hubbies last bit(from like 2 years ago!) and I think there is some weird comment about American models- is he referring to me? Ich bin nicht eine bissige hund und er soll vorsicht sein! tell him that Jen dear, xxoo L
Yeah, you’ve lost the plot. He was talking about American cars.
