Jool’s New Year Hootenanny has a bit of a diva-fest going on. Martha Reeves, Duffy, Adele, Annie Lennox.
Annie still has it – stunning and emotional performances. She looks fabulous, gorgeous and dignified. I’m much happier to know that Annie, amongst many others would see in the New Year quietly in their own house – in fact Jools says that the majority of viewers are watching from their beds.
Martha Reeves doesn’t have it (although the Vandellas still sound great, probably because they’re getting to sing the low notes). Interesting choices of dresses and hair. HB points out that the group probably aren’t getting much in the way of royalties so maybe they have to keep touring?
Adele sounds fabulous (and I keep seeing the horizontal dancing from the video) and so does Duffy, although her resemblance to a fem-bot is startling.
